Preparing for tattoo Canggu – prepare the canvas!

Tattoo is a form of art, and your tattoo artists all treat it as such. Just as your tattoo Canggu artists are honing their crafts to the point that they are able to create masterpieces, now as a receiver of said art, you have a task only you can do; prepare the canvas.

When you’re considering to get a tattoo, treat your body as a canvas. Some have said that tattoos have the toughest and the most difficult canvas of all; the human skin. And your skin’s condition changes depending on your overall health. It could get dehydrated if you lack sleep and intake of fluid, it could get wounded, sunburn, and everything else that would very much affect the quality of the tattoo.

Make sure that you get enough sleep!

Sleep deprivation leads to all sorts of problem. And that includes your skin drying out. Not getting enough sleep prior to getting a tattoo done is the worst thing you could have done to your body. Not only your skin wouldn’t be on the top condition to receive the ink wound, your pain tolerance may also lower and you’ll be cranky for a whole day during your tat appointment. So before you get to your tattoo Canggu appointment always make sure that you have enough sleep.

Keep your skin moisturized

This isn’t something that you can do overnight. If you’re serious about preparing your skin as the canvas for the work of art, you’re going to need to do this early on way before your tattoo appointment.

Cut down on the sunbathing

Bali is all about tropical bliss. The warm (scorching) sun blanketing your skin. The beach outings and the salty winds and waves. We get it. But if you’re planning to get tattooed in Bali during your holiday, you might want to hold right there. Stop the sunbathe for at least one week before your tattoo appointment. Seriously, stop it. You don’t want to make your skin endure a tattoo wound on top of a nasty sunburn. Nope.

It all seemed like a lot of work. What are the nasty effects actually?

Both sunburn and any kind of pigmentation caused by the sun meant that your skin will need to recuperate first. Your skin will need to take its time to repair all of the damaged cells caused by the exposure of sun. Is there any chances that this would actually be affecting your tattoo result?

Absolutely. It wouldn’t just affect your newly tattooed skin. Excessive exposure to sun will lead to discoloration of your tattoo in the long run. As for the newly inked skin, what sun damage to the skin have done may further upset your skin and even cause infection. This will inevitably affect the healing process of your tattoo.

Schedule your holiday well

If you plan to get a Canggu tattoo then there’s no reason for you to not plan your holiday well. Most people who would get a tattoo in Bali would do it in the last days of their holiday. That’s because when you’ve got a newly inked skin, you wouldn’t be able to swim or sunbathe. So make sure that you always have a good, solid plan.
